Twelve different traffic scenarios which are covering different volumes were used for simulation. The traffic data of NCHRP 3-60 report were used. Parameters such as vehicle specifications, give way time, lost time and saturation flow rates were calibrated using the calibration values based on the conditions in Tehran. The Synchro 9, Sim Traffic 9 and AIMSUN 6 software and calibrated values have been used for simulation for Tehran. This study aimed at measuring the efficiency of these interchanges using five measures of effectiveness for having more efficient interchanges in specific traffic conditions. It is difficult for transportation engineers to choose between them without being aware of their right performance. The choice between these two very similar interchanges is challenging. The single-point urban interchange (SPUI) and tight urban diamond interchange (TUDI) are diamond and used in areas with limited right of way, and they have not been used in Iran so far. There are various interchanges with specific features and applications.
